Message from the President
The '''Law Students International Relations Committee (LSIRC)''' is a sub-club of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law. Our club supports our school’s activities involving law students from overseas countries. Some of our current activities include running the Buddy Program for foreign students on the Student Exchange Programme to NUS Law, hosting visiting law students from overseas universities and organising overseas study trips for NUS Law students.
LSIRC is the representative of the NUS Law Club as a local chapter in the Asian Law Students Association (ALSA). LSIRC has friendly connections with other law faculties in Asia and actively participates in ALSA activities.
LSIRC is the platform for NUS Law students to reach out to fellow law students from all over the world, especially our neighbours in Asia. Members function as ambassadors of the student body of NUS in their interaction with foreign students. Members are strongly encouraged to participate in ALSA events, as well as to interact with foreign law students such as those in Singapore on exchange, extending the goodwill of our school and ensuring that their stay in Singapore is an enjoyable one.
This year, LSIRC will continue to foster links with our international friends through our current activities. LSIRC is also proud to participate in the upcoming ALSA Conference held in Singapore, where representatives from all participating ALSA nations will be present. Also, with the inception of the Centre of International Studies in our faculty, LSIRC is looking to work closely with the school to expand awareness and encourage interest in International and Comparative Law amongst the student body.
LSIRC looks forward to the many exciting activities planned for the year, and will continue to be at the forefront of international relations of NUS Law.
Charles LIM
LSIRC President 2010/2011
